<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error correcting code control method and device that can adapt to communication systems with large error rate variations or fluctuations by means of a single error correcting circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The error correction control device in a communicator (11) having a coder (114) implementing a predetermined error correcting code includes a switching determination section (117) for determining whether or not an estimate of an error rate conceivable as transmission data in the communicator reaches a receiving communicator (13) exceeds a predetermined value, and a dummy bit insertion section (118) for, if the error rate estimate exceeds the predetermined value, inserting a dummy bit in a predetermined bit position depending on an error correcting characteristic of the error correcting code when outputting the transmission data to the coder (114). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
