The footrest has two platforms (1) made of solid light weight material and independently mounted on a lateral axle (2). Height adjustable belts or ropes (3) are mounted on left- and right sides at an outer side of the lateral axle. Multiple fastening hooks (4) i.e. wire loops or metal or plastic rings, are provided at respective ends of the belts or ropes, so that the fastening hooks are combined with various mounts or mounting systems. Possible movements of the platforms are detected independent of positions of the platforms. Each fastening hook is provided with an emergency opening.
