摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery having a high energy density and excellent cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a separator 5, a negative electrode, and an outer jacket 8. The negative electrode contains simple silicon as a negative electrode active material, and a negative electrode binder, and is doped with lithium. The lithium ion secondary battery satisfies the formula (1): 1.2&le;M<SB POS="POST">a</SB>/M<SB POS="POST">c</SB>&le;1.9 and the formula (2): 1.0<M<SB POS="POST">a</SB>/(M<SB POS="POST">c</SB>+M<SB POS="POST">Li</SB>)<1.6, where M<SB POS="POST">a</SB>(number of atoms) represents the amount of lithium intercalated into the negative electrode until the negative electrode reaches a potential of 0.02 V with respect to the metallic lithium, M<SB POS="POST">c</SB>(number of atoms) represents the amount of lithium released from the positive electrode until the positive electrode reaches a potential of 4.3 V with respect to the metallic lithium, and M<SB POS="POST">Li</SB>(number of atoms) represents the amount of lithium applied to the negative electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
