<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of positioning a toner cartridge with higher accuracy even if pin pitch is narrowed and the area of an electrode in an ID chip is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises at least: a toner cartridge 30 including a toner storage container 31; a latent image carrier for carrying a latent image; and a development device for visualizing the latent image formed on the latent image carrier by adhering toner supplied from the toner storage container 31 to the latent image. The toner cartridge 30 is detachably mounted in a cartridge mounting section of an image forming apparatus main body and the toner cartridge 30 is provided with the ID chip including a plurality of through-hole electrodes composed of through holes. The cartridge mounting section is provided with a board including a plurality of pin electrodes 34-36 made of rod-like bodies.
