摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strength evaluation method for laser lap weld joint using a finite element method. <P>SOLUTION: A strength of a laser lap weld joint is evaluated by the following procedures: a procedure 1 of creating a FEM model of upper and lower metal plates constituting a laser lap weld joint and a laser weld zone; a procedure 2 of performing a structural analysis by the model and calculating a stress from a shell element of the metal plates at the position of a sharing nodal point of the shell element modeling the metal plates and the shell element modeling the laser weld zone; a procedure 3 of calculating an evaluation stress from the above-described calculated stress and obtaining an evaluation stress distribution of the laser weld zone except end parts; and a procedure 4 of obtaining an evaluation stress of the end parts of the laser weld zone from the evaluation stress distribution by extrapolation and creating an evaluation stress distribution of the entire length of the weld zone to perform strength evaluation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
