PRE-CHAMBER IGNITION PLUG AND IGNITION CHAMBER CAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat transmission in an ignition chamber cap.

SOLUTION: An ignition plug 10 for an internal combustion engine includes a housing 140. An insulator 46 is coaxially provided in the housing 140. The insulator 46 has a tip extending from an exterior surface of the housing 140. A center electrode 60 extends from a base end part of the insulator 46. A ground electrode 62 is fixed to the housing 140. The ground electrode 62 has an electrode end 66 disposed so as to be spaced a predetermined distance away from the center electrode 60. An ignition chamber cap 150 enclosing both the center electrode 60 and the ground electrode 62 is securely fixed to the housing 140 and includes a multilayer shell and multiple orifices 178. The multilayer shell includes an inner layer 180, a core layer 182, and an outer layer 184. The inner layer 180 and the outer layer 184 are made of nickel alloy. The core layer 182 is made of copper alloy and has high heat transfer rate.
