<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device from which a potential source of confusion when a user selects a protocol is excluded, because the device, which automatizes biological processing protocols and stores a plurality of protocols that can be selected on the basis of a specific protocol in which the user participates, causes the confusion heretofore. <P>SOLUTION: A biological sample processing device has a central processing unit, a display which communicates with the central processing unit, and a selector which communicates with the central processing unit and selects a characteristic type of the device.
