PREPARATION OPERATION METHOD FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL TRANSPORT STORAGE CONTAINER, AND LID PART AUXILIARY SHIELD BODY FOR PREPARATION OPERATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an operator from being exposed to radiation in preparation operation for a radioactive material transport storage container.

SOLUTION: A lid part auxiliary shield body 4 is attached to an outer surface of a primary lid 2 put to cover a container body 1 before preparation operation, and the attached lid part auxiliary shield body 4 is detached right before a secondary lid is attached to sufficiently blocks radiation such as gamma rays and neutrons from inside the container body 1 during the preparation operation such as bolt fastening operation for the primary lid 2 and drain operation for water in the container, thereby reducing exposure of the operator to the radiation during the preparation operation.
