<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an engine capable of comparatively and inexpensively improving startability, the engine including a variable valve timing mechanism with an intermediate lock mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The intermediate lock mechanism is reliably functioned and the rotating phase of a camshaft is fixed at an intermediate position by alternately executing advance angle control for advancing the angle of a rotating phase of the camshaft and retard angle control for retard the angle of the rotating phase of the camshaft in cranking the engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
