<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap rudder which can prevent a drop in the propulsion efficiency by the link mechanism of a flap in the sea, and cavitation and electric corrosion, without causing excessive steering power and instability of a course in moving backward. <P>SOLUTION: A rudder 1 is suspended from a crown 2 enveloped in a rudder holder 3 installed between an outer board 31 and a steering gear deck 32, so that a pair of rotating bodies are made, and turning bearings 4a and 4b are arranged between the rudder holder 3 and the crown 2, and the flap rudder 1 and the crown 2 are held rotatably with the rudder holder 3. A flap mover 20 is installed on the top plate 2c of the crown 2, and the mover 20 and the top part of the flap 1b are coupled with each other by a flap driving shaft 5, so that the flap 1b can rotate in a range of ±35° to ±40° to the main rudder 1a. A gear ring 9 is wound and fixed to the crown 2 in the top position of the upper turning bearing 4a, and the gear ring and a steering gear 21 installed on the steering gear deck 32 are connected with each other, thereby enabling the flap rudder 1 and the crown 2 to rotate 360°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
