<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of reducing the impact on a packet signal to be notified from other terminal even when the packet signal is notified from a terminal which is required to reduce power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal 18 is not mounting a reception function. A modulation unit 74 and an RF unit 72 notify a packet signal in a situation where communication is possible by the packet signal between terminals of other type mounting a carrier sense function and a demodulation function. The RF unit 72 sets the transmission power when informing the packet signal lower than the transmission power when a terminal of other type transmits the packet signal.
