<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control printing positions by respective printing mechanism parts when forming one image by printing using more than two printing mechanism parts. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet conveying controlling section generates a printing reference position signal in which pulses are generated every predetermined conveying distance. A printing reference timing signal-generating section generates, in the respective printing mechanism part, printing reference timing signals constituted by delaying the printing reference position signal according to the distance of the printing starting position in the printing mechanism sections relative to the reference position when conveying printing sheets.
