The invention relates to a device and method for conveying a liquid to a filter unit of a medical treatment device, in particular for conveying a dialysis liquid to a treatment unit, in particular a dialyzer or a filter of an extracorporeal blood treatment device. The device according to the invention comprises a balancing unit (I) and a recirculation unit (II) which comprises one or more chambers (K3), (K4). The recirculation unit (II) is designed in such a manner that a recirculation circuit including the filter unit (1) is formed, wherein, independently of the flow of liquid into the balancing unit (I) and out of the balancing unit, liquid flows into the filter unit (1) and out of the filter unit. Using the balancing unit, it is possible to continuously feed fresh liquid, in particular dialysis liquid, to the recirculation circuit, or to remove used liquid, in particular dialysis liquid, from the recirculation circuit. In the process, fresh or used dialysis fluid can be fed or removed at a different flow rate than the flow rate at which the liquid circulates in the recirculation circuit via the filter unit. The recirculation circuit also enables the maintenance of a continuous liquid flow through the dialyzer or the filter, even if the liquid flow via the balancing unit is discontinuous. |
