CATALYTIC STRUCTURES FOR AUTO THERMAL STEAM REFORMING (ATR) OF HYDROCARBONS

An autothermal reforming catalytic structure for generating hydrogen gas from liquid hydrocarbons, steam and an oxygen source. The autothermal reforming catalytic structure includes a support structure and nanosized mixed metal oxide particles dispersed homogenously throughout the support structure. The mixed metal oxide particles comprise magnesium, nickel and aluminum being derived from layered double hydroxide structures, which collaps after thermal treatment leading to the formation of nickel nanoparticles supported on magnesium aluminum mixed oxide.
