SURGICAL IMPLANT FOR WIDENING A VERTEBRAL CANAL

An implant is made available with which the vertebral canal of vertebrae can be widened in a way that places less strain on the patient than in previously customary operating procedures, wherein the vertebral arch of a vertebra is sectioned to form an incision gap or is partially removed, and the implant is inserted into the incision gap, wherein the incision gap is delimited by mutually opposite incision surfaces, and the implant comprises an implant body with two contact faces which, in the state when inserted into the incision gap, bear on the incision surfaces of the vertebral arch.
