The resin composition production method of one aspect of the invention, which is a method for producing a resin composition comprising an acrylic resin and a cellulose ester resin, is characterized in comprising a process for melt-kneading said acrylic resin and cellulose ester resin in the presence of a supercritical fluid, a process for discharging said supercritical fluid using an extruder, and a process for molding the melted resin composition obtained by said melt-kneading. Said resin composition production method provides a method for producing a resin composition comprising an acrylic resin and a cellulose ester resin wherein the compatibility of the two resins has been improved. Said resin composition production method also provides an optical film for which degradation of performance in harsh environments has been improved, as well as a polarizing plate and liquid crystal display device equipped with said optical film.
