摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type tripod constant velocity joint in which the strength of tripod shaft part can be improved while preventing the interference of the tripod shaft part with a roller unit. <P>SOLUTION: The sliding type tripod constant velocity joint 1 includes: an outer ring 10 on which three raceway grooves 11 are formed; a tripod 20 including three tripod shaft parts 22 to be inserted into the three raceway grooves 11 respectively; and a roller 30. The tripod shaft part 22 has a distal end part 22a for pivotally supporting the roller 30 and a root part 22b. The cross section of the root part 22b is formed so that the second width Wb of the tripod 20 in the axial direction is shorter than the first width Wa thereof in the circumferential direction and so that a part of the shape of the cross section Sb has a recessed place Ra which is positioned on the inside of a virtual ellipse Es having the first width Wa as the major axis and the second width Wb as the minor axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
