ELECTRIC CONNECTOR AND WIRE HARNESS COMPRISING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of suppressing carbonization of a housing when a contact held by the housing is laser-welded to an electric wire.

SOLUTION: An electric connector 3 comprises a contact 7 laser-welded to an inner conductor 4 (electric wire) of a signal line 2 and a housing 8 holding the contact 7. The contact 7 includes a projection portion 10 which projects from the housing 8. The projection portion 10 includes a tip end portion 13 and a base end portion 14 in the projecting direction. The contact 7 is laser-welded to the inner conductor 4 of the signal line 2 by irradiating the tip end portion 13 of the projection portion 10 with a laser light beam L. A heat conduction preventing portion 16 configured to prevent heat generated in the tip end portion 13 from conducting to the base end portion 14 is formed between the tip end portion 13 and the base end portion 14 of the projection portion 10.
