<p>A method for reducing energy consumption of a base station is described. A first pilot channel is transmitted via a first antenna using a first downlink power amplifier. A second pilot channel is transmitted via a second antenna using a second downlink power amplifier. It is determined that no multiple-input and multiple-output users are in a cell corresponding to the base station. The second pilot channel is shut off.</p> |
