The present invention relates to a thread for a subcutaneous medical procedure, including a biodegradable thread for a medical procedure, and a functional substance coated over the thread or forming the thread. According to the above configuration, skin regeneration can be expedited by increasing the production of collagen and elastin through stimulating subcutaneous tissue by means of inserting same between the dermis and the subcutaneous layer, and simultaneously, by treating the thread by coating same with a functional material or a drug, better results for skin regeneration can be achieved, or the functional thread and device can be used as a drug delivery system (DDS).
