<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power generation performance by providing a novel expand metal which can inhibit drying of an electrolyte membrane. <P>SOLUTION: In a fuel cell, when a mesh-like passage, along the film surface of an electrolyte membrane, of air from a separator is formed by a continuation of recesses 51 and protrusions 53 in a gas passage formation material 40 of expand metal, the sizes of the top parts of the protrusion 53 and a wide range protrusion 54 that are continuous with the recess 51 are differentiated so as to widen the area of a contact part where the top part 54a of the wide range protrusion 54 surrounding the mesh-like passage (a through hole 41) comes into contact with a power generation body layer 35. The wide range protrusion region 40W having a wide area of a contact part coming into contact with the power generation body layer 35 is set in a range where drying of the electrolyte membrane is likely to occur. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
