<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production management device, a production management method, and a program that are capable of effectively specifying a combination of storage containers containing parts that satisfy the required amount. <P>SOLUTION: A production management device searches for container arrangement that is a combination of storage containers that satisfy the required amount of parts. When there is a part whose container arrangement is the only one in the container arrangement for each part, each of the storage containers included in the container arrangement is designated to be selected, and these storage containers are removed from the container arrangements for the parts. In addition, when there is no part whose container arrangement is the only one,, new container arrangement is made by combining container arrangement for different parts, and the new combination of container arrangement is united into one arrangement having the same contents, from the results of which the storage containers included in all the container arrangement are designated to be selected. The designated containers are removed from the new container arrangement. Further, a container arrangement corresponding to the minimum element is specified based on the inclusion relationship of the container arrangement after the removal.
