<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of limiting functions which are not suitable for use by a user, and a control method or the like for the projector. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 10 includes: a mode setting part 102; a device connection connector 18; and a projection part 140 which displays an image based on an image signal input from a portable information device 30 through the device connection connector 18. The projector 10 is brought to a state where a dock connector 16 having the device connection connector 18 can be pulled out and the portable information device 30 can be connected to the device connection connector 18 when a floor installation mode is set by the mode setting part 102. The projector 10 is brought to a state where the dock connector 16 cannot be pulled out and the portable information device 30 cannot be connected to the device connection connector 18 when a hanging installation mode is set by the mode setting part 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
