<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve gradation control of an object pixel easily and accurately. <P>SOLUTION: In an electrophoretic display device (1) including a pair of substrates (28, 29) which are arranged to be opposed to each other through a space having a predetermined width and at least one of which has light permeability, multiple pixel electrodes (21) formed on a board surface of one substrate (28), a common electrode (22) formed on a board surface of the other substrate (29), an electrophoretic element (23) which is sealed between the substrates and in which two kinds of charged particles each having a different color and a different polarity are dispersed, and driving circuits (3-6) for forming a writing pulse which generates a potential difference to transfer the charged particles between the pixel electrodes (21) and the common electrode (22), the driving circuits (3-6) increase in stages a voltage value of the writing pulse and repeats application of the writing pulse at a voltage value in each stage predetermined times until gradation of an object pixel (20) reaches required gradation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
