<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a small-sized and highly-sensitive magnetic sensor by devising the configuration of a Faraday rotation element. <P>SOLUTION: In a magnetic sensor employing a Faraday effect of a Faraday rotation element, the Faraday rotation element is configured such that a magnetic body layer having a large Verdet constant and small magnetostriction is formed on both sides of a thin light transmissive member so as to have a thickness that is less than or equal to spontaneous magnetization and allows light to transmit therethrough. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
