<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently control the temperature of an engine 1, while keeping a constitution of an engine cooling system simple, in the engine 1 capable of independently making a coolant flow to a block side water jacket 13 and a head side water jacket 14. <P>SOLUTION: The thermostat 8 includes a bypass side normally opening passage 801, a head side normally opening passage 802, a first valve element 81 for controlling a coolant flow quantity of a radiator passage 2 by adjusting opening of a first communicating port 803, a second valve element 82 for controlling the coolant flow quantity of the block side water jacket 13 by adjusting opening of a second communicating port 804, a third valve element 83 for controlling the coolant flow quantity of the head side water jacket 14 by adjusting opening of the head side normally opening passage 802, and a thermo-actuator 84 for displacing a cylinder 87 for fixing the first-third valve elements 81-83 in its axial direction in response to a temperature change in the coolant in the bypass side normally opening passage 801. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
