According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for generating a panoramic image includes: (a) generating first and second adjustment images by adjusting the resolutions of first and second input images; (b) generating first and second pre-processing images representing edge information by referring to a tangent vector perpendicular to a gradient vector representing a change in intensity or color with respect to each of the first and second adjustment images; and (c) determining a position at which the first and second input images are combined by referring to a matching result between the first and second pre-processing images.
