<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device capable of changing a dead time appropriately depending on a quantity of an output current amount, and to provide a method of driving the same and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A switching power supply device has: an output current detector detecting an output current value generated by a full bridge circuit; an output current value comparator determining whether or not the output current value detected by the output current detector is relatively small; a PWM signal generation circuit generating a PWM signal based on an input instruction value and the output current value; and a dead time generator generating a dead time in which all switching elements are turned off. When the output current value comparator has determined that the output current value is relatively small, the dead time generator generates a relatively-short dead time. On the other hand, when the output current value comparator has determined that the output current value is not relatively small, the dead time generator generates a relatively-long dead time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
