PASTE COATING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF COATING PASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement accuracy of the coating height of paste and the quality of coated products.

SOLUTION: A paste coating apparatus 1 includes: a plurality of coating heads 3a for coating the paste on a coating surface of a coating object W; a plurality of laser displacement measuring devices 3c for measuring the displacement of the coating surface disposed integrally on each of the coating heads 3a; and a control section for controlling the foregoing operation. At least one of the plurality of the laser displacement measuring devices 3c is disposed so that the optical path surface is along one of the two straight lines and at least one of the other displacement measuring devices 3c is disposed so that the optical path surface is along the other straight line of the two straight lines in the coating patterns. The control section carries out such control that the laser displacement measuring device 3c in the state of the optical path surface along an extending direction of the straight paste in the coating patterns is moved to a direction intersecting with the extending direction of the straight paste in the coating patterns when measuring the coating height of the paste for forming the coating patterns drawn on the coating surface.
