The mould for continuous casting of metal, comprises a coolable running surface (11) and a guiding means (12) for molten metal consisting of an incombustible material. The guiding means of the running surface is radially arranged in flow direction and is pressably connected with a supporting ring (13). The outer peripheral surface of the guiding means and an inner peripheral surface of the supporting ring are conically or cylindrically formed. A radially tensed collar is arranged at the outer peripheral of the guiding means. The supporting ring is formed in two-piece manner. The supporting ring comprises a fastening means and a stretching means, which are prestressed against each other in axial direction of the mould. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of mould for continuously casting of metal.
