The pre-load unit (P) has a housing (2) with a medium for fixing the pre-load unit to a handle (7) in a non-rotating manner. A lens receiving portion is arranged in the housing. A section, protruding from the housing, has two separate leaf-like units (3). A slider is movably disposed inside the housing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a kit; (2) an applicator; and (3) a method for the introduction of an optical lens, particularly an intracorneal lens in the eye of a human or animal.
