PURPOSE: A data storage device and an operation method thereof are provided to restore a data page in which an error is generated through a page parity. CONSTITUTION: A reading-requested data strip is determined(S100). If the reading-requested data strip is an error data strip, other strips in a strip to which the reading-requested data strip belongs are read(S110). A restored data strip is outputted by using the data strips except for the error data strip(S130). The restored data strip and other data strips are recorded in a storage medium(S140). If an error of the reading-requested data strip cannot be corrected by an ECC(Error Correction Code) generating unit, the reading-requested data strip is determined as the error data strip.
