The rectangular-shaped compost grinder comprises a first movable base component that is provided with support legs and a drawer forming recovery tank and has an upper opening, a rotatable grid for closing the opening, a second peripheral component disposed on the movable base component, a third peripheral component provided with a knife and a guiding unit, and a cover equipped with an odor unit. The second peripheral component is open at its top and bottom sides. The grid is disposed on the second peripheral component and the first movable base component. The compost is produced by supplying vegetable wastes in element, cutting and grinding the vegetable wastes, transferring the vegetable wastes, by gravity, in the element, preserving the vegetable wastes for transferring them into the compost, transferring the drawer of the element, and withdrawing the compost. An independent claim is included for a process for manufacturing a compost grinder.
