PURPOSE: A robot cleaner and a control method thereof are provided to improve the operating efficiency of a robot cleaner by determining the availability of voice commands based on the noise level of input sound. CONSTITUTION: A robot cleaner a voice recognition unit(100) which receives sound from outside and extracts and recognizes a voice signal, a control unit(200) which calculates the level of noise in the voice signal and controls the operation of a robot cleaner based on a control command according to the voice signal, an output unit(300) which outputs the noise level, and a storage unit(400) which stores the voice signal and the control command.
