PURPOSE: A light emitting diode, a manufacturing method thereof, a backlight unit including the same, and a liquid crystal display are provided to regularly control oriented distribution of light by forming a fluorescent layer of uniform thickness. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting diode(151) has uniform thickness. A first wire and a second wire are connected to a first electrode pad and a second electrode pad of the light emitting diode. The first wire and the second wire input an external driving signal. A fluorescent layer(200) eliminates an edge portion of the light emitting diode. The fluorescent layer forms a first round part and a second round part in order to expose the first electrode pad and the second electrode pad. The area of the fluorescent layer is smaller than the area of the light emitting diode.
