PURPOSE: A photoalignment device and a method for manufacturing a patterned retarder with the device are provided to form the patterned retarder including a first and a second patterns having optical axes intersected with each other in a single photoalignment device. CONSTITUTION: A mask(340) selectively transmits or blocks a first polarizing component(337a). Phase difference plates(333a,333b) generate a phase change of a second polarizing component(337b). A first pattern is formed on a substrate by the first polarizing component. A second pattern is formed on the substrate by the second polarizing component.
