PURPOSE: A device and method for starting vehicles with a fob is provided for users to distinguish an operation mode as a light emitting diode emits specific light according to the operation mode. CONSTITUTION: A device for starting vehicles comprises a fob and a control unit. The fob outputs starting signals according to the user's operation. The control unit starts the vehicle or emergently starts the vehicle on the basis of the signal generated from a brake pedal. The control unit starts the vehicle if the signal from the brake pedal is received. The control unit emergently starts the vehicle if the signal from the brake pedal is not received.
