Tiling in video encoding and decoding

Implementations are provided that relate, for example, to view tiling in video encoding and decoding. A particular method includes encoding a first picture and a second picture together as a single picture. An upsampling indication is generated for the single picture. The upsampling indication indicates whether upsampling is required to restore at least one of the first picture and the second picture to a desired size. The single picture and the upsampling indication are combined to form a bitstream. Some other implementations format, store, or process the information in the bitstream. Some other implementations extract from the bitstream the single picture and the upsampling indication. The single picture is decoded into the first picture and the second picture. If indicated by the upsampling indication, at least one of the first and second pictures is upsampled to its respective desired size.
