Prop with wear indicating means

The prop (1) has an indication and storage unit (12) in form of ring for indicating and storing an excess of preset axial compression load value and deformed in a permanent manner as soon as an axial compression load (C) exceeds the compression load value. The indication and storage unit is shaped so as to be partially arranged between a slide (3) and a shaft (2) for resuming the axial compression load applied to the prop. A limiting unit limits penetration of the slide into the shaft, and is shaped, so that an upper end of the slide is not contact with the indication and storage unit.
