The heat exchanger has a housing (2) i.e. inner housing, comprising an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion (6) with base surfaces that are spaced opposite to each other. Fluid to be cooled is made to flow through a channel (14), and a fluid inlet (12) is connected with a fluid outlet (16) via the channel. A coolant is made to flow through another channel (10). A stiffener frame (26) is arranged with two longitudinal beams (28) and two crossbars i.e. flow guiding ribs, in the housing and attached with opposite longitudinal beams at the base surfaces of the housing portions. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a heat exchanger.
