The element (4) has a main body made of plastic and metal. The main body has a reference axis (20), which is defined as an intersection line between center planes. One of the center planes runs centrally between an outer side of a wall (22) and an outer side of another wall. The other center plane runs centrally between a front end region (12) and an opposite front end region (14). Sectional planes run at right angles to the reference axis and parallel to each other through the main body. The main body exhibits different cross-sections in the sectional planes. The main body is a plastic injection molded part or a metal die-cast part. Filling parts of a load bearing panel are made of foam plastic. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a load bearing panel (2) a method for manufacturing a plate-shaped load-bearing element.
