<p>An aspect of the invention provides a method of processing prediction information for at least part of an image of an enhancement layer of video data, the video data including the enhancement layer and a base layer of lower quality, the enhancement layer being composed of processing blocks and the base layer being composed of elementary units, the method comprising: deriving, for processing blocks of the enhancement layer, prediction information from prediction information of one or more spatially corresponding elementary units of the base layer; constructing a prediction image corresponding to the enhancement image, and the prediction image being composed of prediction units, each processing block of the enhancement layer corresponding spatially to at least one prediction unit of the prediction image, wherein each prediction unit is predicted by applying a prediction mode using the prediction information derived from the base layer.</p> |
