<p>The present invention is directed to a rechargeable battery (1) comprising an electrode assembly (10) having a first electrode (11), a second electrode (12), and a separator (13) interposed between the first and the second electrodes (11, 12), a case (20) for mounting the electrode assembly (10) therein, a cap plate (30) for closing an opening of the case (20), a vent hole (35) formed in the cap plate (30), and a vent plate (34) closing the vent hole (35). The reinforcement member (60, 260, 360) is formed on the cap plate (30) and the vent plate (34) is attached to the reinforcement member (60, 260, 360) to thereby prevent thermal deformation of the cap plate due to a welding process and deformation progress from the cap plate due to external force.</p> |
