<p>A ground stabilising device (10) comprises a securing arrangement (16) and a load spreading arrangement (18) on the securing arrangement. The securing arrangement defines a through passage (40, figure 3) for an elongate article (12) which may be a cable or wire. The securing arrangement comprises a guide member (54) extending towards the passage, and a clamping assembly (38). The clamping assembly is movable along the guide member towards the passage to clamp the elongate article in the passage and secure the elongate article to the ground stabilising device. The assembly may include a spherical or wedge shaped clamping member 48 which may be urged or biased into contact with the elongate article via a spring 50.</p> |
