PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an array substrate for a liquid crystal display device is provided to eliminate an active tail due to an amorphous silicon thin film pattern which is formed in a lower portion of a data line during 4-mask processes. CONSTITUTION: A protection film is formed on a substrate. A contact hole is formed using a third mask. The contact hole exposes one area of a drain electrode. A second conductive film(130) is formed on the substrate. A pixel electrode(180) is formed using a fourth mask. The pixel electrode is directly connected to the drain electrode through the contact hole.
