PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food composition containing Plantago asiatica extract are provided to ensure biocompatibility and low toxicity and to prevent or treat renal function disorder. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating renal functional disorders contains Plantago asiatica extract as an active ingredient. The renal functional disorders are caused by Fe-NTA(ferric nitrilotriacetate). A pharmaceutical composition or health functional food composition for preventing or treating renal functional disorders contains the extract.
