PURPOSE: An intelligent line-tracing robot and a driving method thereof are provided to make a robot avoid a line and obstacles because the line and obstacles existing in front of the robot on a floor are sensed by an infrared sensor or ultrasonic sensor attached to a bottom side or four sides of the robot. CONSTITUTION: A line-tracing robot(10) comprises first and second sensor units(11,12), a first driving unit(21), and a controlling unit. The first sensor unit is placed in a lower side of a robot and generates first signals sensing a line of a floor. The second sensor unit is placed in a front side of the robot and generates second signals sensing front obstacles. The first driving unit drives wheels(31,32). The controlling unit receives first and second signals from the first and second signals, thereby controlling the operation of the first driving unit based on the first and second signals.
