LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to obtain an alignment film which is formed by only irradiating an ultra violet ray without a rubbing process. CONSTITUTION: Alignment films(11,21) are located on at least one of a first substrate and a second substrate respectively. Each alignment film includes a vertical optical alignment material and a major alignment material. The vertical optical alignment material includes a first vertical functional group and a photo-reactive functional group. The major alignment material does not include a photo-reactive functional group. A liquid crystal layer(3) is located between the first substrate and the second substrate.
