PURPOSE: A low voltage ride through system for a wind power generator and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the capacity of an energy storage system. CONSTITUTION: A low voltage ride through system for a wind power generator comprises a blade, a generator, and a power converter. An energy storage system with the power converter is installed between the generator and the system. The power converter with a two way converter is connected between the generator and the system so that the energy storage system is charged and discharged. When the voltage of the system is under a predetermined level, the wind power generator is stopped and the energy storage system is connected.
