PURPOSE: A paper feeding apparatus is provided to accurately feed a sheet of papers by softly reciprocating a feeding member in a lateral direction. CONSTITUTION: A paper feeding apparatus comprises an elevating unit, a lift unit, a feeding member, and a driving unit. The driving unit comprises a pair of position fixing gears(FG1,FG2), a chain, a rotating force providing part, a limit slide(LS), and a limit piston crank(LPC). The position fixing gears are rotated while being connected to a center shaft of which position is fixed. The chain is coupled to the pair of position fixing gear in a closed loop state to synchronize the rotation between the pair of position fixing gears. The rotating force providing part allows one of the pair of position fixing gears to rotate forward or backward. The limit slide limits the critical range of a piston movement distance of the feeding member. The limit piston crank moves the feeding member with the movement of the chain and reciprocates the feeding member.
